Simple Minds And New Album
Following on from 2014’s highly acclaimed album ‘Big Music’, Simple Minds is set for a brand new long player called ‘Walk Between Worlds’. In addition to the new album, which is set for release in 2018, the band will perform three special gigs in the same month as the album release.
‘Walk Between Worlds’ is officially release 2nd February 2018 and is produced by the same pairing, who were behind the aforementioned album ‘Big Music’, Andy Wright and Gavin Goldberg. Furthermore, the new album contains eight tracks with side one reflecting influences that both Jim Kerr and Charlie Burchill grew up hearing in terms of New Wave and post-punk, and the second side being more cinematic with the song ‘Barrowland Star’ reflecting this and having been recorded at Abbey Road.
This is what lead singer Jim Kerr had to say regarding the forthcoming album release:
“As much as it has been a real pleasure to work on WALK BETWEEN WORLDS, equally so it is thrilling to observe that the Simple Minds story continues to evolve both in the studio and on the live stage,’ says Jim. Adding, ‘Sensing that each of these songs are destined to become individual events when played live – we look forward to performing all of them alongside already established live classics when we set out on this next upcoming tour”.
‘Walk Between Worlds’ is out next year 2nd February 2018 on BMG.
