On A High Top Mountain
Nashville-based country singer-songwriter Sturgill Simpson was recently in the UK to perform a number of live dates in support of his debut album ‘High Top Mountain’.
Famous Last Words (FLW) talked with Sturgill Simpson between his gigs one afternoon, and found him to be in fine spirits discussing his album and forthcoming second album later this summer, but also his fondness of shortbread biscuits with a cup of tea and sounding quite the British gent!
“I came over a few weeks back, and we immediately hopped a train up to Glasgow and I wondered into the snack carriage [of the train] and saw this beautiful red plaid wrapper [shortbread], so I tried some with a cup of tea and probably put on about 10Ib in a few days! When I got home my wife didn’t understand what I was talking about with “this biscuit nonsense” as she referred to it. So, I’ve been a very good boy this trip as I’ve had only one little go at them this time.”
